A magnitude 7.0 struck below the Aegean Sea about 13.5 km (8.5 miles) off the northern coast of the Greek island of Samos, which is located just south off the coast of western Turkey, on Friday, October 30, at 2:51 p.m. local time (11:51 UTC). The temblor has caused buildings to collapse in both Turkey and Greece.
