Flooding continues in Europe today, with some positive news emerging while new areas are at risk. In Italy, heavy rains have brought flooding to the Emilia-Romagna region, leading to the evacuation of 1,000 people. Elsewhere, Poland’s third largest city, Wroclaw, appears to have largely avoided significant losses from the most recent flood wave. Polish authorities continue to take a cautious view, stressing that these areas are not fully out of the woods yet, but so far indications are positive.
