Copernicus EMS Shapefile | Summary
Posting Date: January 12, 2024, 12:00:00 AM
Following on last week’s notification regarding the ongoing flooding in Germany, ALERT™ subscribers can download a shapefile created from data published by the Copernicus Emergency Management Service for this event from the Downloads tab of this posting on the ALERT website, which can be utilized within Touchstone®’s Geospatial Analytics Module or any GIS application to better understand the impacts of this event. The shapefile is as of 8th January for Lower Saxony and 4th January for the Saarland region, which are the most recent available from Copernicus EMS. Note that this shapefile may not encompass all flooded areas in Germany from this event.
We will provide an expanded summary of the overall impacts from this event next week. We do not plan to release similar stochastic events, an industry loss range, or custom event sets for this event at this time. Please contact your Verisk representative with any additional questions about this event.
