Whilst Verisk does not typically create simulated ALERT event set for Severe Thunderstorm, a one-off analysis and deliverables are being provided for the 2022 French hail events given their extreme return period impacts. This event set includes two significant hail events linked to the low-pressure systems Maya and Qiara, which developed over France during June 2022. The event set is primarily developed using radar data and calibrated based on claims. Additionally, it has been validated against industry-reported losses and client claims that were not part of the calibration process. The footprint of these events is limited to France, excluding impacts on neighboring countries. Hail is the only modeled peril in this event set, with no consideration of other associated hazards.
