Post Landfall 2 | Summary
Posting Date: November 12, 2008, 7:36:00 AM
This ALERT posting combines the select event sets from AIR’s Landfall posting for Hurricane Ike (released 9/13/2008) and the Post Landfall 1 posting (released 10/20/2008) which addressed losses occurring in the Midwest. The purpose of this event set is to combine the hurricane and subsequent extra-tropical cyclone losses so that clients can easily analyze treaty losses using a single event set.
This combined event set is a Select Event Set which contains three scenarios. In order to create this AIR summed the modeled losses for the Hurricane and ETC Select Event Sets. The ETC Select event set contains three events and the Hurricane Select Event Set contains 11 events. To combine the losses AIR summed the high, middle, and low events for each event set.
This combined event set can only be provided for CATRADER. Event IDs for like events are not provided for the combined event set since the events necessary to make the combined set are drawn from two different models (the US Hurricane and the US Extra-Tropical Cyclone model).
Finally, it is important to emphasize that the combined set is simply the summation of losses from the previously released loss estimates. No updates or alterations to the modeled losses have occurred.
