Emong (known as Co-May outside of the Philippines), a small but quickly intensifying typhoon, made landfall near Agno, Pangasinan in the Philippines late Thursday night. A minimal, Saffir-Simpson category 1-equivalent storm, it brought heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal inundation to La Union, Ilocos Sur, and parts of northern Luzon.
