Hurricane Roslyn made landfall in northern Nayarit, near west-central mainland Mexico on the Pacific coast at 5:20 am local time on Sunday, October 23rd, with maximum 1-minute sustained winds of 120 mph and a minimum central pressure of 960 mb. The storm has since dissipated since moving inland.
ALERT™ subscribers can download similar stochastic event (SSE) IDs for Hurricane Roslyn from the Downloads tab of this posting on the ALERT website. Compatible with Touchstone® and Touchstone Re™, the SSEs were selected based on Roslyn’s key meteorological parameters at landfall. They should only be used with exposures in Mexico.
Roslyn approached the Mexican coast as a Category four hurricane, before weakening to a category 3 at landfall. Over 150,000 homes lost power as a result of the storm, and as of Sunday afternoon around 100,000 homes remained without power. In Puerto Vallarta, the airport has resumed operations, and schools in Jalisco reopened on Monday.
